How many extra Squeezeloc Spikes should you get?

It really depends on what you want to do.

Squeezeloc Spikes are designed so that you can have up to three of them in one position on the sptibar (see photo), allowing you to utilize six arms in one compact area on the spitbar, saving the remaining space on the bar for other things.

Sausages, asparagus, fruit and meat fillets are all favorites for the Spikes.

At trade shows, we often showcase one Auspit with the Spit bar completely loaded with marshmallows (a very impressive sight!) 8 long spikes can get you 48 marshmallows going in no time. Try that at your kids' next birthday party!

Original Spitmate (SPM)

The Spitmate attaches to the spit bar only on one end, so it can extend well past the tip of the spit bar in case you want to load up the rest of the spit with other goodies or just a big honking piece of meat. Go nuts, but just not more than 18 pounds total, OK?

Spitmates are all stainless steel, dishwasher-ready, and designed to fit in the same carrying bag with the rest of your Auspit kit. The Spitmate also fits on many existing household rotisserie systems.

Original Spitmate vs. Spitmate Junior?

The Junior is about half the length of the Original Spitmate.

If you tend to cook for a large number of hungry mouths and over larger fires, you are probably going to want the larger, Original Spitmate. If your fire footprint is small or you cook primarily over a FireTrough (see below), we recommend the Junior as frees up more "heat real estate" for other things.

Being more compact, the Spitmate Junior obviously holds fewer goodies (although still generally plenty for 2-3 people) but opens up more space on the spit for meats and other skewered items.  With two Spitmate Juniors (or a Junior plus an Original), you can cook two different items separately. Some Auspiteers prefer the way the Junior fits easier in a dishwasher.

Rib-O-Lator

NEW for flat and flaky things... the Rib-O-Lator!!

For anything flat or flaky, we now have a great new accessory...the Rib-o-Lator! Throw in your burgers, fish, ribs, or anything you want--up to 16 pounds. The trays stay flat as they rotate around the spit. The rotisserie action allows the juices to drip on the other trays as they pass below, part of what helps bring your food to a succulent perfection.

The Rib-O-Lator fits into the Auspit carrying case with the Auspit kit and other accessories.

The Rib-o-Lator trays measure 5" x 18" x 4" trays = 360 sq inches of cooking surface. Load it up!

Due to the size of the rotation (carrying it away from the heat for too long), the Rib-O-Lator is not recommended for use with the Auspit charcoal FireTrough accessory except when using just one tray in non-rotisserie mode.

Like the Spitmates, this accessory can also be used with most traditional gas grill rotisseries.

Fitting on a regular gas grill: you will need 12 ½ inches front to back, 19 inches lengthwise and 5 ½ inches clearance from the center of the rotisserie rod down to the heat plate covering your burners. If you do not have 5 ½ inches, then remove the heat plate covering the burners and re-measure.. Drop us a note if you have any questions.

The Rib-O-Lator will fit on 99 percent of the grills on the market. the only ones it may not fit are the smaller inexpensive grills.

Like all Auspit cooking components, the Rib-O-Lator is made of durable, rust-proof
stainless steel.

The new FireTrough accessory is all stainless steel construction and is used as an option for grilling for with charcoal when a regular open fire is not possible. It attaches to the main support post and can hold charcoal or hot coals from your campfire. And of course it fits into the original Auspit carrying bag with your Auspit kit--and even with a Spitmate in there, too!

The new Swing Arm is designed to support a kettle of water, soup, grits, jello shots, or whatever you'd like to suspend over a fire. It comes with a post clamp to position it on the Auspit support post. It holds up to 22lbs.
